Obiettivi formativi
This course deals with some economic issues previously studied in history of economic thought (even though that is NOT a mandatory exam), with a glance on the role of entrepreneur, as well as the cultural, economic and social role of the firm within a social framework. We will be adopting a historical persepctive with a special attention to the methodology of the firm.L'insegnamento si propone di approfondire alcuni aspetti della teoria economica affrontati nel corso di storia del pensiero (sebbene esso non sia un prerequisito obbligatorio), con particolare riferimento alla figura dell'imprenditore, alla natura dell'impresa e al ruolo culturale, economico e sociale dell'impresa stessa in una dimensione sociale. La prospettiva adottata nel corso sarà storica; particolare attenzione è rivolta agli aspetti metodologici delle dinamiche di impresa.- Oggetto:

Students are required to be able to achieve the capacity to consider the nature of the firm as an economic agent within a general theoretical and historical acknowlegment of the present economic system which is constantly changing.Gli studenti sono orientati ad un approfondito esame della natura dell'impresa come soggetto economico entro un quadro generale di conoscenza teorica e storica del sistema economico in evoluzione costante.- Oggetto:
Programma
Part I (general part): history of economic theory of the firm from marginalism (Marshall) to financial capitalism. In this part we'll be paying attention to some aspects of economic history, even though the focus will stay on theoretical aspects of the subject. A specific part will be dealing with enrepreneurship with the Austrian school of economics: from Schumpeter to Kirzner.VISITING PROFESSOR, G. VALLET will be teaching the part on economic history
Part II: gender gap in economics and entreprenuership. When possible, some case studies will be presented during the last part of the course.
Guest Lectures: Meet Entrepreneurs at ESOMAS (UniTO)
Guests will be sharing their experience and will be available for Q&A.
Guest lectures are open to anyone.
‘Meet Entrepreneurs’ will be recorded and uploaded on ESOMAS and SME social networks.

Exam (1h 30') is written according to this procedure: 4 questions on general and specific parts (texbook + slides), (different points /each) + a question on a guest lecture you choose (9 points).Students will required to study the material assigned including papers (dowloadable on moodle at the end of any single class). MIDTERMS FOR ATTENDEES ONLY. Recorded guest lectures mandatory for all.L'esame (1h 30') è scritto secondo queste modalità: 4 domande sulla parte generale e monografica (articoli in pdf + slides) ognuna con punteggio differente + una domanda su una guest lecture a scelta del candidato fra quelle proposte (9 punti). MIDTERMS SOLO PER FREQUENTANTI. Le guest lectures, le cui registrazioni sono a disposizione, sono obbligatorie per tutti.Prevalentemente si tratterà di esporre e di analizzare articoli di riviste scientifiche (forniti regolarmente su piattaforma moodle dal docente alla fine di ogni singola lezione)+ domanda su guest lectures
