Obiettivi formativi

The aim of the course in managerial economics is two-fold

-to provide a unifying theme and frame for managerial decision making. The topics are very similar to the micro industrial one, the same theory and models are at work, but the accent is more applied

-to identified and apply the basic decision-making process for managerial decision making

Hence students should be able to understand the basic concept of managerial decision making in a word of risk and uncertainty in application to demand market strategy incentives and asymmetric information. The textbook and the additional material of the course will be rich of cases and experiments in order to show application of the models and of the theory.

The student will understand apply and interpret the different methods and model used in managerial decision making. She will learn how to make judgements about economic systems how to evaluate  a managerial decision and how to deal with decision under risk.

Modalità di insegnamento

Classroom lectures, discussion of newspaper and scientific article and experiment will constitute the core of the classes. Exercises sessions in classroom and further clarifications during office hours, for students interested to contact the professor.

The exam will be written but part of the written exam could be substituted by work in class for the attenders depending on the number of students and the current situation. The format of the exam also will follow according to the effective situation and will be constituted by multiple choice and open question/s depending again on the participation to the class work.
